One answer to the question in the original search term above is that substance abuse and conduct disorder often go hand-in-hand. This report shows the offspring of fathers who have drug- and alcohol(Drug information on alcohol)-dependence are at risk for conduct disorder, demonstrating a significant gene-environment effect. The second study below finds the same association for children of mothers who are heavy drinkers.
