Only 7% of patients with diabetes reached goal for hemoglobin A1c, LDL cholesterol, and blood pressure at the same time. What can be done to help more patients achieve goal? In this 2-part interview, Dr Edward Shahady shows how group visits can help your patients with diabetes better control their disease and reduce their risk of diabetic complications.

Dr Shahady is clinical professor of family medicine at the University of Florida and the University of Miami; an associate faculty member in the residency program at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville; President for Medicine of the North Florida/South Georgia Chapter of the American Diabetes Association; and medical director of the Diabetes Master Clinician Program of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians Foundation in Jacksonville. He is also a long-time member of the Editorial Board of Consultant, and a frequent contributor on diabetes.
