There are 3 classes of medications associated with pancreatitis. Class I medications—those that have been reported in at least 20 case reports—include opiates and azathioprine. With class II medications, between 10 and 20 cases have been reported; this includes rifampin. Class 3 drugs have been rarely implicated; diphendydramine has not been implicated with pancreatitis to date.
