Get a Better Grip for Closed Reductions

When attempting closed reduction of a fractured or dislocated finger, do you ever find it so slippery that you can’t get a good grip? Next time, try spraying both the patient’s and your fingers with tincture of benzoin. When it dries, you will be easily able to manipulate the finger to the desired position.
